Competitor UX Audits for Ecommerce
In our last chat we discussed how ecommerce teams can identify a UX issue/opportunity and prioritise changes to improve performance. This week we’ll follow up with a discussion on how you can benchmark your ecommerce UX against online competitors (or in fact any other website you want to do an objective comparison with).
Without access to a website’s analytics tools, there’s a limit to the quantifiable data you can analyse. For example, you can’t dig into heat and scroll maps for their visitors but you can run page speed tests.
Today’s chat will drill down into what we ecommmerce teams can do when they don’t have direct data access. The art of the possible is important to understand.
Here are the 3 key questions:
- What can you analyse on a competitor website without direct data access?
- How can you do this type of analysis e.g. models, frameworks etc.?
- What free and paid tools can you use?
