While a lot of us meet every week on #Ecomchat, those interactions are centered on the topic at hand (as they should be).
But with these new forums, we can get to know the people behind the answers 😉
I’ll go first:
I’m Dennis Moons. I’m from Belgium and I spend most of my time managing Google Adwords for small to medium sized retailers. I’ve been working as a freelancer for about 7 years.
Besides the freelancing I run Store Growers, a site that I’m (slowly) turning into an academy to teach online store owners to be more effective at marketing.
Hi Dennis (Site Growers looks good!)
I am Paul Randall, an ex-developer, ex-designer turned UX Architect as I realised that we should be designing for customers rather than ourselves. I’ve been doing this for over 12 years now.
Currently I work for an agency working on everything from lead capture optimisation to social media content strategy – all with a user-first focus.
Hi Dennis,
Thanks for posting. And a great idea to do intros.
I’m James Gurd. I founded EcomChat with Dan Barker and we co-host the weekly chats. I’m also an experienced ecommerce and digital strategy consultant, working with a wide range of B2C and B2B orgs of all sizes to help them deliver results. I do a lot of replatform projects as well as tactical optimisation and digital marketing.
I live and work just outside of London and am in London most weeks to see clients. If anyone wants to meet for breakfast/coffee/lunch/beer (not all at the same time!) just give me a shout.
Cheers
James
Hi, I’m Andrew. I follow #ecomchat to learn things.
Managing Director of an SEO consultancy in the North East of the UK with a fully remote team, 99% eCommerce. My main passion is Technical SEO, puzzles, new tech, unravelling wires. With a side interest in all things GA, GTM.
Is there a way to turn off the email notifications if one forgets to untick the box when posting? I’m getting a lot emails already.
Hi all. I’m Simon, a Technical SEO but have been designing, building and running websites since 1995. Managed hsbc.com between 1999 and 2010 and on the side built a few ecom sites. Now finding and fixing tech issues with sites including ecommerce sites.
Hi all,
I’m Stephen, have been building and marketing websites since 1999. Currently handle marketing and customer experience at Allies as my day job. By night I dabble with Node JS, Swift and Shopify mainly, for a mix of personal projects and helping friends. In the past I have worked on Magento stores, run newspaper websites and built location based directories.
Hi all,
Great idea to have this forum and get to know more about the people behind EcomChat.
I do digital marketing across the board both at strategic and tactical levels, (technical) SEO being my core specialism and the area that I find the most appealing. My background expands across a variety of verticals, including e-commerce. I also have done digital project management and international marketing, always seeking to integrate digital within the wider marketing strategy. I find e-commerce particularly interesting and positively challenging.
Hi all,
I’m Ilkka. I’m interested in all things related to digital sales, customer service and customer experience – especially from the viewpoint of live chat.
For the past four years, I have helped corporations take full advantage of live chat. First, I helped companies set up and optimise their live chat operations. Then, about two months ago, I started working in a startup building a chatbot platform. So now I have a new approach to old challenges!
If you have any live chat related questions, I’m happy to share tips and best practices 🙂
Hello hello
I’m Pierre. I mainly do two thing:
– SEO and web product management consulting
– I’m building an analytics platform to help businesses continue to have web analytics data when the GDPR and whatever final form of the ePR arrive.
Because of the latter, you’ll hear me talk about data governance, compliance, and security a lot. Shut me up if that’s not your thing, or get in touch if you want to geek out or join the product beta.
My background is extremely varied, and I’m cynical, snarky, and sarcastic, especially when technology fails.
Cheers,
P
Hello – I am Gerry, I am a fairly quiet guy who does SEO stuff
Hi all,
Thanks for setting this up James and Dan!
I’m a retail buyer/merchandiser turned ecommerce enthusiast. Currently running my own consultancy for project & interim work across retailers and marketplaces, and getting deeper into digital marketing & UX. You can also find me at @retaildetail where I tweet about retail & ecommerce news and experiences (with a few of my own opinions thrown in).
If anyone needs a retailer perspective on a project, feel free to get in touch.
