Using AI/ML for Ecommerce Merchandising
#EcomChat on Monday 7th October follows on from last week’s discussion, where we explored how ecommerce teams can do online merchandising without AI/ML tools.
However, increasingly AI/ML tools are used to automate personalisation and product/content targeting, with some ecommerce platforms having this capability baked-in (e.g. Salesforce, Episerver) and others achieving it via 3rd party specialist partners like Nosto and Bloomreach.
So how can an ecommerce team make the most of AI/ML tools to improve website performance? How can they build up a business case to persuade the budget holders to loosen the strings and invest in better automation capability?
As usual there will be three questions to guide the conversation:
- What can AI/ML tools do that manual/business rule driven merchandising can’t?
- Which areas of the website should you focus on for testing AI/ML merchandising?
- How do you measure effectively to know when there is a genuine performance uplift?
Join us at 1pm UK time on Monday 7th October and do share this post either on Twitter or via email with anyone you think would be interested.
Next week we move on to the delights of attribution modelling.
Thanks, Dan & James.
