Improving 2nd Purchase Rate for Ecommerce

Last week we talked about ‘Conversion Rate Optimisation’. This week we’re going to drill into a specific and important measure of conversion, 2nd purchase rate (2PR using our lovely acronym!).

There are many stats validating the impact of securing the second purchase on customer retention rate and LTV. What we want to discuss are insights into measuring 2PR and sensible tactics to start nudging this in an upwards direction.

  1. Which users should you focus on when optimising for 2PR?
  2. What tactics can you use to improve 2PR?
  3. Should you try and accelerate the time to 2nd purchase?
