Making Promotions Work for Ecommerce

October 12, 2015

#EcomChat on Monday 12th October will discuss “Making Promotions Work for Ecommerce”.

Promotions are a proven way to drive ecommerce activity (e.g. sending registered users a special £ off coupon) and there is an art to creating a promotion that cuts through other marketing activity and persuades customers to respond. With so much online promotional activity, what can digital team do to get this cut through? Today’s chat is about sharing views on the best way to plan and implement promotional activity (by this we mean tactical campaigns rather than the big events like Black Friday and Christmas sales).

As ever, there will be 3 conversation starter questions & anyone is welcome to join in using the #EcomChat hashtag on Twitter.

Here are the 3 questions.

  1. What makes a promotion successful?
  2. Is the content important or is it just about the size of discount?
  3. What KPIs can you use to measure promotion results?

Join us at 1pm UK time on Monday and do share this post either on Twitter or via email with anyone you think would be interested.

Thanks, Dan & James.

p.s. If you’re wondering “what’s this about?” there is a page explaining all just here.
