Site Clinic: Nike.com

September 7, 2020

#EcomChat on Monday 7th September will be a live site clinic looking at the website of global sportswear brand Nike.

Nike has been pushing D2C ecommerce for several years and recently announced it’s cutting back further on wholesale partnerships to grow the D2C channel quicker.

It’s not uncommon for brands to struggle with the pivot to D2C ecommerce, yet NIke has been lauded for its efforts and innovation. What can we learn from it’s flagship online store and app services?

So for today’s site clinic, let’s discuss how their current site – https://www.nike.com/gb/ – fares for UX and ecommerce ‘good practice’:

  1. How well does the site strike a balance between brand comms and ecommerce?
  2. Do key landing pages (e.g. home, search results pages, PLPs and PDPs) work hard enough to sell?
  3. How smooth is the purchasing experience?

We’re sure we’ll end up covering much more!

Thanks, Dan & James.
