Smart Metrics to Measure On-site Search & Browse

February 17, 2020

#EcomChat on Monday 17th February will look at measurement and how to use smart metrics to understand what users are doing and how that contributes to your website and revenue.

We know that people take different routes to make a purchase, and that the path to purchase can be a single session or multiple. We also know that there are many established metrics used to measure success, such as add to basket rate and conversion rate.

However, less talked about are metrics that enable a more granular measurement of performance, engagement and conversion. For example, tracking the search queries entered when: the user lands direct on a campaign landing page, then jumps into a search journey instead of responding to landing page CTAs.

So it’s time to share. The focus will not just be on ‘what’ but also ‘how’ do you use this data to make improvements?

As usual, we’ll focus the chat around three key questions/discussion topics. For today’s site clinic we will cover the following site capabilities:

  1. Which metrics help you understand the impact of site search & what do you use them for?
  2. How do you measure the real impact of on-site content & what do you do with the insights?
  3. What should you be measuring for site navigation & how can you use this data?

We’re sure we’ll end up covering much more!

Thanks, Dan & James.
