Reducing Checkout Abandonment

#EcomChat on Monday 12th August will be on the topic of “Reducing Ecommerce Checkout Abandonment”. The chat will take place at 1pm UK time on Twitter.

There are many stats publicly available on basket and checkout abandonment rate. According to Baymard Institute the average documented online shopping cart abandonment rate is 69.57% (an aggregate score compiled from multiple sources).

Why is it so high? Is this to be expected, or can we do something about it?

We’ll seek to address these questions and more during the chat, sharing advice and insights on how to improve the checkout experience to reduce abandonment. As ever, there will be 3 conversation starter questions:
